  • POOL-3076 We’ve reorganized the Water Quality and Chemistry settings menus into a single “Chemistry” menu. This Chemistry menu replaces Water Quality, and organizes reporting and configuration in one place.
  • POOL-3102 Adds support for one-time dosing! With one-time dosing (also contained in the Chemistry menu) you can create a single event to dispense a custom amount of chemical outside of your pre-configured dosing tables. This menu will only appear if your Attendant has been updated to Controller version 2.3.19 or later.
  • POOL-2982 Added Chemical Usage information graphs to the Chemistry menu. This new feature allows you to view your historical dosing events by day, week, or month.
  • POOL-3074 Chemistry dosing events can now be stopped during the event – just need to press the “More” button on the card and select “Stop This Event Now.” If, in addition to this, you check the box “Permanently Disable,” dosing will no longer occur for that chemical on that body of water. (The ‘enable dosing’ checkbox in the Chemistry config will be disabled.)
  • POOL-3111 Adds support to keep controls on when Freeze Protection ends if it was on before it began. Requires Controller version 2.3.19 or later.
  • POOL-3052 Both two-way and three-way actuators can now be interlocked.
  • POOL-3078 Added the Auto Resume option in Chemistry dosing table settings.  Default is ‘Never’ but is editable even if using default procedures.
  • POOL-3079 Thermistor alert cards now also show the device name so that it’s a bit clearer which sensor is having a problem.

  • Updated the device configuration screen for 3-Way Actuators by adding an Advanced tab, and moving Water Inlet Direction, and Minimum Flow Rate settings to that tab. These settings are typically not needed for most standard installations. (POOL-3022)

  • Added support to define the number of Motor Poles available on VFD-style water pumps. (ABB, Invertek, Danfoss)
  • Enhanced functionality of the Button Mapping edit by changing how the “Set” action type works. Previously, this action would not only set a value, like a pump speed or light color, it would also turn on or off the power to the control. The “Set” action now no longer turns the control on or off; It only sets the desired value. A new button action type, “Set and Toggle On/Off” has been created to replace the previous behavior. If you previous had a button using the “Set” action type before this update, it has been migrated to use the new “Set and Toggle On/Off” action.
  • Added the ability to unmask and view the Wifi password when attempting to connect The Attendant Mini to the Internet.
  • Alert cards that report “No Flow Detected” will now list all of the devices that are affected by the lack of flow.
  • Addressed an issue where the dialog for exiting Installer Mode could be different if pressing one of the side menu buttons.
  • Made some minor improvements to punctuation and phrasing to the Events listed on the Alerts and History screen. Chemistry events listed on the Events list now also list what the water quality reading was when the dispensing took place.
  • Addressed an issue that prevented Android devices from connecting to Attendant Mini controllers immediately after a factory reset procedure.

  • The Interview process has been improved to be a bit more smart when it comes to naming the devices that are created. The app will no longer prepend “Pool” or “Spa” to a device name if its not needed. For example, if you are configuring a Pool-only set up, you won’t see device names like “Pool Heater” or “Pool Filter” – just “Filter” or “Temp.”
  • Added the ability to disable automatic new device discovery (which is always enabled by default). You can find this setting in Installer Mode, under Sites -> Flow Options.
  • Added the ability to configure an Ozonator device as part of a bypass loop.
  • Addressed an issue that caused the “Please wait.. Processing” message from appearing too quickly when operating a device while in Installer Mode.

  • Added a new feature that allows you to custom name the heating/cooling control per body of water. You can choose a custom name by editing the Body of Water in installer mode and changing the “Temperature Control Name”.
  • Added the ability to clear and reset the heating statistics that estimate the time and costs when changing the temperature of your pool or spa. You can find it by selecting the site in the Sites menu, then “Clear Temperature Change Statistics.”
  • Addressed an issue on Android where schedules could only be configured to start or end on the quarter-hour. Schedules can now be set to start or end at any time.
  • Addressed an issue that would sort bodies of water incorrectly if the water size was edited using the pool size calculator.
  • Fixed a minor issue where a “Winterized?” checkbox would appear when configuring a heater during the Interview.

  • This version provides new functionality for professionals/maintainers. The ability to selectively remove a site or client from your “Clients” listing in the mobile app. When searching or selecting a client name or site name, a new option on the upper right – Remove Site or Remove Client – is available to use.
  • Adds support to enable “Use default dosing tables” under the Chemistry edits per body of water.
  • Addressed an issue that prevented users who were shared on a site from having the correct access to menus and controls when there was a end-date set, and the sharing access level was ‘Adminstrator.’
  • Addressed an issue where the Water Level Sensor “Switch Type” would disappear and not be configurable.
  • Addressed an issue where the Gallons-per-day value for a Chemical pump that can be automatically created in the Interview would be incorrect.
  • Addressed a minor display issue that caused some pH values displayed in a dosing table not to be rounded properly.

  • Adds support for the “Changes to” operator within the “Automations” section in Installer Mode. “Changes to” changes how an automation is started (triggered) – the Actions of the automation will only be run once when the state initially changes to the desired value. For example, if the automation is checking to see if the power to a control is on, it will only run when it first changes to on, not continually afterwards when its on.
    • “Changes to” functionality will only be displayed if The Attendant controller is running version 2.2.5 or later.

  • Added the ability to calibrate Free and Total Chlorine sensors. A guided workflow will be displayed walking you through the process when pressing the “Calibrate” button on a Chlorine sensor in Installer Mode.
  • Addressed an issue when using the Pool size calculator which prevented users from completing the Interview.
  • Addressed an issue where “Power Port” options for Water Level Sensors was not properly displayed for some users.

  • Autofill devices can now be optionally configured with a high water level sensor that will automatically turn off the fill if the water will overflow. You will find this option on the “Advanced” tab of the Autofill device configuration screen in Installer Mode.
  • The Water Quality graphs now display the Alert and Target levels as red (for low and high alerts) and a dashed green line (for the target).

  • You’ll now see each Body of Water (like Pool, Spa, etc.) on its own tab or dropdown on the Water Quality graphs page, making it much easier to understand current and past readings.
  • The Autofill graph on the Water Quality screen is now shown as a bar graph instead of a line, making it easier to read. We also fixed a problem where the report looked wrong when you scrolled back to see data from previous days.
  • We fixed an issue that was stopping people from setting up a “Generic” salt water chlorinator. This fix makes it possible to choose a Port during setup, as expected.
  • Ambient temperatures now correctly show up on the Temperature graph in the Alerts and History screen.
  • The app now includes early support for our upcoming Free and Total Chlorine probes —more features coming soon!
    • This brings a change to how the Chemistry edit Sanitation screen appears to users. A new “Sanitizer Target” option is available, using the ORP probe as the default setting.
  • Alerts related to Actuator issues now clearly say that these are ignored while Freeze Protect is running, to avoid confusion.
  • We fixed a bug that caused some default values for Autofill and Water Level Sensor settings to not appear during the initial setup.
  • You can now set a Minimum Run Time for actions triggered by Water Level Sensors, giving you more control over how your system responds.
  • Shared users (people you’ve given access to your system) will now see any settings or controls they aren’t allowed to use to be visibly disabled—making the interface clearer and less confusing.
  • We’ve updated the app with the latest German translations.
  • Error messages for shared users have been improved to clearly explain what went wrong and what the next steps are.
  • Error messages you may see while trying to control equipment during Freeze Protect, when the pool cover is closed, or when the system is offline are now much clearer—explaining what’s going on and what to do next.

    Maintainers have the ability to set an “exit strategy” where you can help prevent accidental premature exiting from Installer Mode by limiting which users can return a controller to Normal Mode.

  • Added a new alert “Check Door” which will be displayed in app if the controller detects the door cover has been open for more than 3 hours.
  • Updated the setting names and informational descriptions for all types of chemistry edits so that they are standardized and easier to understand.
  • Addressed a few minor bugs that would result in app crashes.

  • Added the ability for users to enable or disable pH and ORP alerts in the mobile app.
    • Users can set whether “low” and “high” alerts are generated, and how long of a delay should there be before issuing an alert.

  • Added the ability to set the Freeze Protect cycle interval in Installer Mode. This allows you to change how long The Attendant will circulate water on a single flow before selecting the next flow. The default time is 20 minutes per flow.
  • Renamed “Countdown timers” to “Auto-Off Timers”
  • Added “Power Port” support to the configuration of water pumps and salt cells. Power Port allows you to not only configure which RS485 port you connect your smart device to on The Attendant, it also allows you to designate a high-voltage relay that electrical power is wired to.

  • Major rework and update to the Device Status screen in normal mode, and the Devices tab in Installer Mode.
    • On the Device Status screen, you can now tap on and select “Alerts” and “Active”
      • The Alerts tab will filter and display only devices that are reporting errors or issues that require attention.
      • The Active tab will filter and display only active/running devices.
    • The Devices tab in Installer Mode, you will be able to see:
      • Any errors/issues being reported by your devices.
      • Additional information that smart RS485 devices share with The Attendant. You can see this information by tapping the icon to expand the information box. (Only for devices that share this extra information.)
      • Devices that can be turned on and off while in Installer Mode are clearly marked with a power symbol.
  • Added the ability to set a Heater cooldown period – from 1 to 5 minutes – which keeps water running through the heater plumbing after turning off heat. You can set a cooldown for any HVAC device – heaters, heat pumps, and chillers. This feature requires Controller version 2.1.2 or later for the option to show in the app.

  • Added full support for RGBW DMX light devices which include a White color channel in addition to RGB and brightness. Requires Controller version 2.0.42 or later.
  • Added the ability to configure Autofill devices in “Fill Line Mode.” Fill Line Mode changes the behavior of the Autofill device so that it remains on at all times, except for when the associated flow switch detects flow. Requires Controller version 1.6.0 or higher.
  • Addressed an issue that allowed Pentair Intellivalve actuators to be assigned Virtual Camming setting. Virtual Camming is not supported on these models.
  • Updated several screens to respect user volume preferences and display ounces/gallons as milliliters/liters.

  • Addressed an issue that prevented Water Level Sensor devices from being saved in Installer Mode if the app language was in German.
  • Addressed a minor display issue for the “More Info” detail popup on a Chemistry dispensing card.

  • The mobile app now supports the adding and configuration of new device types:
    • Pentair iS10 spa-side remotes
    • Jandy 8-Function SpaLinkRS spa-side remotes
    • Generic On & Off devices
    • Fire-type devices
  • Different hardware types of the same manufacturer can now be configured and operate using the same Controller BUS port.
    • For example, Pentair heaters, remotes, pumps, and salt cells can all be configured to use the same BUS port.
    • Additionally, salt cells supporting the Goldline protocol can also be configured side by side with Pentair and Jandy devices. Examples of compatible models:
      • Hayward AquaRite
      • Pentair IntelliChlor
      • Jandy AquaPure and TruClear
  • The mobile app will now calculate and predict cooling times when using a Chiller to lower the temperature of a pool or spa.

  • The mobile app and Attendant controller have been updated to fully support internationalization and is now translated to German.
    • In addition to being able set your preference of date, time, and temperature formats, you can select your preferred units of measure for volume, distance, currency, and how to format numbers.
    • In the Mobile App, go to the hamburger menu, Account, then Preferences to make your selections.
    • For The Attendant controller, tap on Settings, then Preferences.
  • Addressed an issue preventing the “Strobe Effect” in Sync Spotify from being disabled.
  • Addressed an issue preventing the user-selected Salt cell duty cycle percentage from being used when changed during the Interview process.
  • Addressed an issue preventing light devices from being selected as the “trigger” item for a water level sensor.
  • Addressed an issue preventing a user from changing the board selection (top or bottom) for a pH or ORP sensor.
  • An issue preventing Blowers from being added to Themes has been fixed.
  • The min/max range for a body of waters target pH has been increased to a min of 6 and a max of 9.
  • Updated the mobile app default costs for Energy (electric, natural gas, and propane) to current US national averages.
  • Addressed an issue that could cause Device Status values to be incorrect should the user be an owner of multiple Sites.

  • Added Actuator Virtual Camming support! Support is included with this release of the app, and options will appear if your Attendant controller version is 1.6.1 or higher.
  • Added chemical pump timing information to the Liquid Chlorine Chemistry edit – the app shows how long the pump will be running per ounce when dispensing. Requires Attendant Controller version 1.6.1 or later.
  • Fixed issues displaying very long device names in the device edit when selecting a model choice.
  • Addressed a problem trying to select a Light control as the Action to a Water Level Sensor event.
  • Addressed a couple of minor issues registering for a new Poolside account using the mobile app when there is another autofill application installed. (The autofill application would auto-submit the form prematurely.)

  • Updated internal SDK support platform to version 49.
  • Introduced limited support for creating Automations. This feature is still in beta and will be released to all users at a later date. Requires Attendant Controller version 1.6.1 or later.
  • Added new option “Ignore actuator errors and turn on pumps” to the Flow Options section under the Site tab in Installer Mode. When enabled, this allows The Attendant to bypass the safety feature that would not permit water pumps to turn on when an actuator has a problem. This setting is disabled by default (keeping the safety feature on.) Requires Attendant Controller version 1.6.1 or later.

  • Added the ability to configure and operate 2- and 3-way actuator valves that use relays to control them. When editing the actuator, select “Generic” then “Relay Controlled.” You can specify which relays control movements. Requires Attendant Controller version 1.5.4 or later.
  • The Pool or Spa “has not been filtered recently” alert can now be disabled per body of water. You can find this setting in the specific body of water settings while in Installer Mode. Requires Attendant Controller version 1.5.4 or later.
  • The app now supports separate filter controls if there are multiple configured. Body of water settings in Installer Mode. Requires Attendant Controller version 1.5.4 or later.
  • Different groups of DMX lights can now by synced together by using the “Sync Lights” function under the hamburger menu -> Light Settings -> Sync Lights. Requires Attendant Controller version 1.5.4 or later.
  • Added the ability to set the timezone of the controller using the mobile app. Simply go into the Sites menu, select your site, then scroll down to set the timezone region. Requires Attendant Controller version 1.5.4 or later.
  • Revamped the layout and options available to your account. Separate sections have been created for user preferences, dual-factor setup, and 3rd party integrations.
  • Addressed an issue that prevented the Help and Support page from displaying the Dealer’s website information.
  • Addressed a visual bug in the Flow editor in Installer Mode where the device label names would disappear.
  • Addressed an issue where the default position of 2-way actuators was not being saved properly.
  • Added an additional configuration option to Autofill devices. The new setting “Run for minimum minutes” sets how long the water solenoid should be on for each time there is a need to refill water.

  • Improvements made to the initial site configuration process:
    • If the shortcode input is not matched or entered incorrectly, the proper message will be shown to the user to let them know.
    • When a shortcode is successfully registered, the confirmation message will now be:  “Fantastic! Your site has been registered and you are ready to continue the setup process.  Press OK here and you can go back and begin the Interview to configure your devices.”
    • When registering a shortcode and creating a new site, “United States” will be selected as the default country automatically.
  • Improvements made to the Interview process and flow:
    • The Interview now asks which type of heater is installed and will automatically configure the correct device for you (either a Heater or a Heat Pump).
    • If a heating device is not added, the Interview will prompt and ask if a water temperature sensor is installed.
    • The Interview will ask separately if an ambient temperature sensor is installed.
    • The Interview will ask if there is a Blower installed for a Spa instead of automatically adding one. 
  • Improvements and changes to working in Installer Mode:
    • Configuration and Troubleshooting web links have been added to the device configuration screen for many pumps, heaters, heat pumps, and salt chlorinating devices.  This link will appear dynamically under the Brand and Model section in the app. Requires Controller version 1.5.0 or greater to be installed.
    • Adjusted the layout for the Chiller device configuration screen to have the same layout as other HVAC devices, like Heaters. 
    • Revamped the Actuator Valve control logic so that controls are much more responsive and quick to adjust whenever you are changing controls in the app or configuring a system.  While these changes are all under-the-hood, there will be a much better experience configuring your controls as a result. Requires Controller version 1.5.0 or greater to be installed.
      • We also updated the system to, by default, keep actuators powered on at all times.  Keeping actuators powered will help to get you running much quicker when initially setting up a site, when replacing equipment, and when servicing your pool for winterization.
      • Actuator calibration is no longer a requirement, and will automatically take place only when needed based on specific water flow configurations.  
    • Added support for a 2nd Chemistry Board to be installed into one Attendant.  This secondary board, soon to be released, will allow you to have up to 2 pH and 2 ORP sensors installed and will allow you to individually track and manage the chemistry settings for separate bodies of water.
      • The configuration edit for pH and ORP now allows selection between “Top” and “Bottom” boards.
      • By default, when there is only a single Chemistry Board installed, “Bottom Board” will be automatically selected for you.
    • Improved the warning message displayed when attempting to generate filter schedules when in Installer Mode.  If the selected option for “How many times would you like to cycle the water?” is too large for the water pumps to physically support, the message will now tell the user why.
    • Additional configuration support for the full list of Pentair water pumps. Requires Controller version 1.5.0 or greater to be installed.

  • Fixed a display issue that permitted users to move the slider of an actuator in the Device Status screen.  This implied that you could actually make the device move – and this was not the intended behavior.
  • Fixed an issue with the DMX light “Palette” editor where the “Preview” button would not work.  The Palette editor allows users to configure custom colors and light shows to be displayed on DMX-capable lights.  The Preview button will temporarily show the custom color or show on all of your DMX lights to allow you to see how they will look before you save.
    • We also fixed an issue when trying to save a palette without first providing a name.  A message will now be displayed letting you know to add one.
    • When using the editor to create a light show, the first color in the list would fail to have a duration, and this would result in the lights only showing the first color and never the rest.  We’ve corrected that, and now will automatically add a 1 second duration to the first color so that you can see the show in the way you intended.
    • Some additional layout changes were made to help make the other settings and buttons more intuitive and easier to read.
  • Fixed several issues with the Scheduler that allowed overlapping events to be created.  This means that events that start before the end of another will no longer be allowed to be saved.
  • Alerts and History will now list OFF events when something is turned off by automated Schedules.
  • Fixed an issue in the Alerts and History screen that showed incorrect dosing times for Chlorination events.  The actual doses and times were correct – only displayed wrong.  The system was rounding to whole hours when it should not have. 
  • If a dealer or maintainer is not selected for a site, the Help and Support page in the app links to the Poolside support knowledgebase and provides information to the homeowner on how to get support for their equipment.
  • Addressed an issue where the address of a Dealer that is listed in the Help and Support screen could not be tapped to open the location in iOS Maps.
  • Improved messaging to users when there is a problem sharing or transferring a site.  The alert messages now explain why there is a problem.
    • “A site share to this email address is still pending and you cannot start another until the first one has been accepted. Once the transfer request has been accepted or rejected, you will be able to send another.”
    • “To prevent spam, you can only send N invites over X hours. You will need to wait a while before you can send more.”
  • Shared users with only partial access to site controls like Heaters are no longer able to access the “meatball” menu of the control, preventing accidental changes to settings like Default Countdown Timers and Pump Speeds.
  • When tapping on Updates in the app, extraneous details are no longer displayed.  These can be shown (if needed) by tapping on the version number on the Help and Support page.

  • Addressed an issue that could cause pool devices to turn off when interacting with the Water Quality graph in the app. 
  • Addressed a crash with the app when all rows from a chemistry dosing table were deleted. 
  • Addressed an issue where you could not add more than one row to a chemistry dosing table.
  • The app will no longer allow Spotify syncing if your user account is not already linked to Spotify.

  • The maximum tweak value for pH and ORP probes has been increased.
    • pH maximum tweak has been changed from +/- 0.3 to +/- 0.5

  • Added the RPM the pump is currently reporting to the Device Status screen or while in Installer Mode.
  • Alerts for pH, ORP, and other chemistry events will no longer be shown for bodies of water that have been winterized.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented Chillers and Heat Pumps from being added to a plumbing bypass in the Flow editor in Installer Mode.
