Secondary Attendant Controllers

If the capacity of the Primary Attendant is exceeded, you can integrate a Secondary Attendant to double the system’s capacity and still maintain a seamless single APP interface. Follow these steps to ensure proper installation and connection:

Connection Overview

Step 1: Internet Connectivity

Ensure both the Primary and Secondary Attendants are connected to the internet at all times. This can be achieved via Wi-Fi or a hardwired Ethernet connection.

For the systems to function properly, each Attendant requires a stable internet connection with a minimum speed of 5 Mbps for both downloading and uploading. This ensures seamless communication between the units and reliable operation of all connected features.

Step 2: Communication Wire

Install a 22-gauge, 2-wire communication cable from Bus 4 to Bus 4 to link the two units. Refer to wiring diagram below. Nothing else can be wired to Bus 4.

Step 3: Finalization

Once the units are connected to both the internet and each other, contact the support line at +1 (267) 810-0600 (press 1 for support) to complete the setup process.

Secondary Attendant Devices

When deciding which Attendant to designate as Primary or Secondary, refer to the Devices Supported on Secondary Attendant Controllers article. Note that not all devices are compatible with both units, and limitations may apply to devices on the Secondary Attendant.

Wiring Instructions and Diagram

Connect a 22-gauge, 2-wire communication cable between the two Attendants using BUS 4.

Connect BUS 4 D+ to D+ and D- to D-.

The communication cable should not exceed 500 feet (150 meters) in length.

Refer to the diagram below:

Linking the Primary and Secondary Attendant Together

After completing the wiring:

Power on both units.

Connect each unit to the internet.

Once internet connectivity is established:

Register only the Primary Attendant.

Call the support line at +1 (267) 810-0600 (press 1 for support) and provide the following information:

  • Serial numbers for both units.
  • Site name of the Primary Attendant.

Once the Primary and Secondary Attendants are connected, they will function in sync, appearing as a single, unified system within the app.

When programming devices, be sure to specify whether each device is associated with Device 1 (the Primary Attendant) or Device 2 (the Secondary Attendant). This distinction is crucial to ensure proper communication and functionality within the system.
