What is the Legacy Automation Conversion Kit and How to Use it

The Poolside Tech Legacy Automation Conversion Kit (ATT-LACK) is essential when installing The Attendant (sold separately) as part of a retrofit or technology upgrade where another automation system is being replaced.

Our kit consists of 8, 15-foot high-voltage relay cables which connect from the already-in-place electrical on the old automation system to The Attendant. This helps to simplify and expedite the installation of The Attendant, and saves time and money by not having to remove the old panel, nor rewiring each relay connection.

In this scenario where the conversion kit is leveraged, the legacy automation system now simply becomes the load center, allowing The Attendant to take over all functionality.

Some highlights on this kit:

  • 22AWG tinned cables
  • Board connector preinstalled
  • Cables can be cut to length
  • Crimpable termination spades also provided

What you do is connect the cables in the kit from the relays in the old automation system and run them across to where The Attendant is being installed and set up.

Looking at the following image –

The goal is to connect the kit’s wires from these relays on the old system to The Attendant.

Loosen and disconnect the control cables from each relay – highlighted below – and connect one of the LACK cables to them instead.

Route the other end of the LACK cables to one of the 8 available RELAY port connectors on The Attendant.
