Ports to connect to on The Attendant: Heater H1 – H5

These devices should only be powered directly from the power center or breaker panel. There is no need to run through a relay, as The Attendant will command them to turn on/off by way of the communication cable.

Raypak heaters can be controlled using legacy Fireman Switch/Dry Contact connections. This connection type allows The Attendant to control the heater’s on/off state to manage the desired water temperature setpoint.

Dry Contact / Fireman Switch Connection

Inverter Models

  1. Turn off the electrical power to the heater and The Attendant.
  2. Remove the jumper wire on the heater’s terminal block from terminals marked #5 and #6. See the following diagram.
  3. Install two wires from any available Heater (H1-H5) port on The Attendant to terminals #5 and #6 (which should lead to DIN2).
  4. Set the temperature setting on the heater to 104°F (40°C).

On/Off Models

Turn off the electrical power to the heater and The Attendant.

Install two wires from any available Heater (H1-H5) port on The Attendant and extend to the heater. Do not connect any wiring yet.

To gain access to the heater’s electrical components, remove the four (4) Philips screws on the electrical cover.

Locate the connection for the AUTOMATION CONTROLLER terminals. See the following images for location.

To install the automation controller cable, cut and splice the YELLOW jumper wire on Terminal PROT1 to the two wires connected to The Attendant.

Program the setpoint to 104°F (40°C) – Press the UP PAD to set the target temperature to 104°F (40°C) or to another desired MAX temperature.
