The Attendant is capable of controlling pool and landscape lighting via the high voltage relays located on the controller or it can operate professional grade Digital Multiplex lighting (a.k.a. DMX) using one or more serial (BUS1-4) communication ports.
DMX Lighting
DMX (or DMX512) is a standard for digital communication networks that are commonly used to control lighting and effects. This type of lighting is used in most stage lighting – like concerts and night clubs, in addition to pools and spas.
When using DMX lights, The Attendant gives you complete access to that light’s color palette, and allows control of the lights and colors instantly – as opposed to legacy lighting solutions where the light needs to be turned off and on many times in order to display a particular color or light show.
The DMX lights themselves are physically connected to transformer boxes (sometimes called ‘drivers’). The Attendant gets connected to the ‘driver‘ box using one of the unused communication BUS connectors..

Connect the wires from the ‘driver’ (data+, data-, and ground) to the D+, D- and GND terminals on the BUS1-4 port selected.
In order to control the lights, you will configure them using the Poolside Mobile App first by setting up a new light, selecting the correct brand and model. If your brand is not listed, create the new light using “Generic” as the brand, and use “DMX” as the model.
High Voltage Lighting
These instructions are designed for traditional pool lighting systems that are typically controlled by a standard light switch for on/off functionality. These systems commonly use either incandescent or LED light fixtures.

Low Voltage Lighting
Low-voltage lighting is also widely used in many pool and spa installations. In these setups, the lights are powered by a safety-listed pool/spa isolation transformer.
