Built Right Heaters can only be controlled using legacy Dry Contact connections. This connection type allows The Attendant to control the heat pumps on/off state to manage the desired water temperature set point.
Remote Wiring Connections – Heat Only
Turn off power to the Built Right Heater.
Connect a two-wire 22 AWG conductor cable to the P/S terminals on the Built Right Heater control board located in the main electrical box.
Connect the other end of the cable to an open heater port on The Attendant. Refer to the diagram below.

Once wiring is completed, close up the electrical panel on the heat pump and restore power.
Programming Heat Pump – Heat Only
Set the pool temperature to ‘OFF’ and raise the spa temperature to 104°F. The Attendant will automatically manage the heater, turning it on and off according to the thermostat settings in The Attendant App.

Once in installer mode, go to the Devices tab and press the + button. From the Add Device screen, select Heat Pump.

Rename the heat pump, then choose Generic as the brand. Turn Off “Supports Cooling“

Next, choose the port type and number for Heating. Adjust the minimum and maximum operating ambient temperature to match the heater specifications. Press Apply, then navigate to the Flows tab and assign your heater to the appropriate flow. When finished, press Apply and Save.
Your Build Right Heater is now wired, programmed, and ready to use!
